Last year he performed on P&O cruises and they were a total sell-out. Mr Russell Watson is now back doing another 2 performances on-board Aurora & Azura in May & July 2013.
Russell Watson, the “People’s Tenor” was born on the 24th November 1966 in Salford, Lancashire. He began his singing career in the Working Man’s Clubs of the North West. In 1990 he won a Search for a Star contest organised by Manchester’s Piccadilly Radio. His career took off in 1999 when he sang “God Save the Queen” at the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium, then finally sang at Old Trafford before the last match of the Premiership season between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. This appearance sealed his success.
His debut album “The Voice” came out in May 2001 and reached Number 5 in the UK Albums Chart.
The former Salford factory worker has since sold millions of records worldwide and has performed for some of the most influential people of our time, as well as facing two life–threatening illnesses in the last five years.
The first three night cruise will sail to Belguim and Guernsey on 18 May 2013 on the Aurora with prices starting at £299pp.
The second sailing will see Russell Watson performing is on Azura for a four night cruise departing on the 5th July, calling at the same destinations. Prices start from £399pp.
In addition to the performance, passengers on Azura can book pre- or post-performance dinner in celebrity chef Atul Kochhar’s Sindhu restaurant, or Marco Pierre White’s Cafe Bordeaux on Aurora.
