The adult-only mid-sized ship will receive a complete makeover of its cabins, restaurants, bars, entertainment areas and public spaces to provide a whole new elegant and sophisticated look.

The Oriana was first launched back in 1995 and the last time she had a face lift was back in 2011, she is one of the smaller ships in the P&O fleet, but also a favourite with so many guests.

P&O announced the news after listening to guests feedback and this is what they had to say :

“After listening to your feedback, we’re collaborating with leading cruise-industry architects Richmond on a refit programme. We will of course be retaining Oriana’s most distinctive features, but guests can look forward to enjoying new luxurious materials, soft furnishings and carpets, upgrades to furniture, improved lighting, rich colour schemes and the ultimate in comfort and relaxation.”

The ship’s main dining rooms, the Peninsular and Oriental restaurants, will each receive new colour schemes, with upholstery and soft furnishings replaced throughout. Cabins will see a calming colour palette of cream, soft grey and teal introduced, while bathrooms will be updated and cabin furniture replaced.

P&O said: “We know that Oriana holds a special place in the hearts of many of our guests and we can’t wait to show you how we have spruced her up, while staying true to the integrity of this special ship.”

The Oriana is definitely a firm favourite with guests who travel with P&O, let’s hope this new face lift will bring her back to her former glory, to me it sounds like a bit of a tidy up.

What’s your thoughts on the refit ?
