Myself and my partner have just returned from our first cruise on Celebrity Reflection from Rome calling at Scicily, Greece- Sicily, Rhodes, Santorini, Athens, Turkey- Kusadasi and Italy- Naples then returning to Rome.

After much research and attending the Cruise show in Manchester we decided on the 5* Celebrity cruises and are we glad.

We booked through Michelle at cruise.co.uk who was extremely helpful, a wealth of information and very patient.

From boarding to disembarkation this cruise does what it says on the tin. 5 star luxury from beginning to end.

We booked an Aqua stateroom on penthouse deck 11 room 1569.

On arrival to our stateroom we had a bottle of fizz , fruits and canapes.

The room was spacious a lovely balcony, plenty of storage and immaculate. The bathroom had a big shower unit with a huge shower and jets.

We had plenty of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion supplied every day.

Towel were replaced as often as you wanted. we had gorgeous big towelling dressing gowns.

The bed was huge and extremely comfortable.

We had our breakfast served on our balcony every morning which was amazing. Our steward always called first to say it was on its way and we were called after to ask if it was acceptable which it always was.

The ship itself is enormous and we were amazed.

The restaurants from the buffet which had everything you could ever want cooked to perfection and from what we saw cooked very fresh. Anything left out that the chef thought was looking not 5* I noticed was binned.

There was a huge selection of restaurants on board and all were of excellent quality and amazing service from the sommelier to the waiters and front of house. The food was amazing !

I cannot fault the staff they were all so polite and could not do enough for you and always with a big smile. Every one of them greeted me with a good morning ma’am or good afternoon ma’am .

Every bathroom had a washroom attendant who were fabulous opening all the doors and handing you a towel after washing your hands then pushing the button to let you out.

I must say Celebrity are fastidious over hygiene and cleanliness which I think is very impressive.

All of the bars especially the sunset lounge on the 15th deck our personal favourite were great and the service fast and faultless .

I personally cannot stand to queue at a bar and there was none of this , it was all waiter service.

The martini bar being the only acceptation around dinner time as it did tend to get crazy but I can’t complain as it was still great service.

The shows we loved and went most nights at 7pm. We could always get a seat and they were varied and very entertaining.

Musicians from all over, including two from Britain’s got talent I think and a fabulous violinist from America.

The on board bands were great and there was always live music somewhere.

Shopping on board was good . The information that was given to us every night in our stateroom for the next days events titled Reflection today was invaluable and immense . Something happening evening half our or so somewhere on this enormous gorgeous ship.

The Captain was a charming Greek man whose announcements every morning at 10am and when we set sail from every port were something we enjoyed and looked forward to.

We had 2 chic nights where the Captain and his officer all welcomed guests and he again made a lovely speech.

I have heard from certain reviews that people have been upset with the down grading of Formal to Chic by Celebrity . Having not experienced Formal nights myself I cannot comment but all I can say on this cruise most people very much dressed up for Chic night and also for dinner most nights.

We particularly loved getting dressed up every night. There was a large number of different nationalities on board and age range which was great.

We met some lovely people from all over the world and some of which we will be friends with for life I am sure.

It was lovely as first time cruisers meeting people that had cruised many times and I was able to pick their brains. Most of which said as I had thought Celebrity is fantastic and you can’t go wrong if you stick with them.

The captain his crew and staff all from all over the world and are just extremely friendly whilst being very professional and attentive. I short we could not fault any of them.

My only fault of the whole cruise is that the large metal doors that crew go in and out slam shut behind them and it is very annoying.

We have booked 2 more cruises with Celebrity which we are very excited about.

This was an amazing first cruise experience made all the better by the truly 5* Celebrity Reflection and her captain and staff.

Thank you Celebrity !!!

We are now hooked and will see you soon !mel 4 2
