St Petersburg has so much to offer and with many of the cruise lines offering an overnight in port,there will be plenty of time to explore this wonderful city. The Church on Spilled Blood is one of the main sights in St Petersburg. The Russian style church was built where the Emperor was assassinated in 1881. The beautiful interior of this amazing Cathedral is definitely worth a visit and it is home of Russia’s largest collection of mosaics.

Another must when in St Petersburg is The Hermitage.The Tsar’s Winter Palace  and four other buildings is home to over 3 million artworks and the collection includes work by Monet, Da Vinci and Rembrandt. The Hermitage was founded 1764 by Catherine the Great and is now one of the largest and oldest museum in the world.

Visit the spectacular Catherine Palace which features a Gold Dome crown and is set in 1400 acres of lush gardens. Here you can take a guided tour through the palace starting with the Grand marble staircase then explore the grand state rooms. A must is a visit to the Amber Room. This took over 20 years to complete and cost of $12 million to complete.  The Catherine Palace is an extremely popular attraction and as you can see visitors often have to queue to visit this fantastic Palace.
