A Room With A (Partial) View

It can be a bit of a mine field booking your cruise, the almost endless choices, from entertainment to restaurants to leisure activities, the most important choice to make is booking your cabin – if you get it wrong it can spoil your cruise!

Making the right choice is much easier with the help of the internet, if you ask the question on Cruise.co.uk Forum ‘has anyone stayed in cabin xxx’ the chances are someone will have posted a review, plus there is a great website http://deckplangenius.com/ that lists all the good and bad points of most cabins

One of the main choices is affordability and I think obstructed ocean view cabins are a great lower price option if you don’t need a balcony and a better alternative to an inside cabin and usually cost very little to upgrade, these are always on a middle deck and quite often midships

Ok so you don’t have a clear view from the window but how often do you sit in your cabin looking out? that’s what the lounges are for! If the scenery is spectacular you can go up on deck or find a nice spot in the lounge or bar to gaze!

The partial view cabins offer natural light and are usually larger than the inside cabins, if you can trust the deck plans or check online you might just be able to book a cabin that is at the end of a life boat or behind a smaller boat that will give more light, some might just have a post of part of the ship’s structure blocking the view so it is worth doing some investigating before you book as some cabins are DEFINITELY better than others

What do you think? Have you stayed an an obstructed view cabin? Would you recommend it?
