2 Hours 53 minutes and Counting ……..

2pm today will see the arrival of P&O Britannia is Southampton

P&O do not have the innovations and ‘gimmicks’ that are surrounding Royal Caribbeans launch of Anthem of the Seas, – there are no Bionic Barmen and Smart check in facilities on board Britannia, P&O’s focus is fare more around the British Contemporary Style and sophisticate of a 5 star hotel that has become their signature built exclusively for the British market – named Britannia and with the Queen to be Godmother what could be more British!?

P&O’s newest ship has been ‘Designed for the future’ and promises that ‘there has never been a more stylish way to see the world! Nothing beats the feeling of stepping on board a new ship for the first time, and whether you are new to cruising, or a veteran of the high seas, your moments on board our new cruise ship, Britannia, designed by world-leading interior design experts, are sure to be truly memorable.’

I have been lucky to be invited on board on Sunday to explore Britannia and experience the design innovations for myself

I am especially interested in the style of the cabins and public areas, I do think P&O are a bit beige compared to Royal Caribbean and Princess ships, P&O claim to have made “The Ocean’s Finest Hotel,” the Suites and Spa has been designed by Richmond International team who have previously designed seriously stylish venues, from the Four Seasons hotel in Hampshire to the Langham hotel in London.

The ‘Boutique ‘ style cabins promise to be more stylish than ever, all feature a large flat screen TV for films on demand, pamper packs from The White Company, bathrooms with glass shower screens and bespoke artworks from British artists and what’s even better is free cabin upgrades and free bubbly to celebrate the launch on Select price bookings made throughout March so what are you waiting for!
