For those who know me, will know our family loves a visit to the Big Apple…

The hidden gem of the High Line is a disused railway line that’s been turned into a linear park, running from 30th street down to the meat packing district. It has lots of seating areas and is ideal for urban landscape lovers. It’s a peaceful haven in such a bustling city  and not to be missed… 

Another favorite of ours is Grimaldi’s pizza restaurant situated in front street  Brooklyn, close to the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s nothing flash with its wipe clean table cloths and no alcohol licence however probably the best pizza I’ve ever tasted. It attracts an array of movie and pop stars, Its defiantly one to put on your list… You can then walk off that pizza with an unforgettable sight of the Manhattan skyline as you walk into the city over the Brooklyn Bridge.

Book early for your trip up the Crown of the Statue of Liberty its one of the most rewarding experiences of any visit to the city, and there is a limited number of visitors allowed up per day. The statue itself is only the thickness of 2 pennies and does sway on a windy day. You reach the top by an intertwined spiral staircase . The statue is still copper in colour inside for all the outside has turned green over the years. The original torch flame is now situated in the base of the statue and was replaced over 25 years ago.
