Who said/thinks Cruising is boring?

Often when speaking to people who have never cruised before,  and they ask me what my job is or where do I go on my holidays – to which I reply I am a cruise consultant so obviously I sail the seven seas on my holidays – they look at me and say but isn’t cruising boring and nothing to do? With which I reply isn’t sitting by the same pool everyday boring? At lease I wake up in a new destination nearly every day and can have a new adventure every day.

For me cruising allows you to try new things like going to cookery schools or art classes. There is also the west end style shows, comedians, magicians and musicians in the evening to watch in the theatre which is all free, some ships have ice skating rinks which you can use during the day or watch the show by the professionals in the evening.  There is the gym, rock climbing walls, Zumba/spinning/yoga classes for the active or those who want to burn off last nights dinner. Some ships will show movies on the big screens outside or in the cinemas on board, if you fancy a flutter in the casino or have a game of bingo then you can also do that.  Where else would you play shuffleboard except on a cruise ship? or you could even have a round of mini golf. And not forgetting to have go on the bumper cars,  in the I fly – sky diving simulator, or take a behind the scenes and sit in the Captains Chair.

And if you don’t fancy doing that there are plenty of places to relax with a good book (or borrow one from the on board library’s), play a game of cards or sit out on deck and watch the sea as you sail to the next port of call.

That’s before we even mention all the different dining options on board.

For me I do like to sit in the sun but my partner is not built for the sun, so a cruising holiday suits us as he can happily go and watch the movie, join in an activity and leave me on my sun lounger with my book during the day once we are back from exploring our port of call.

I would like to thank you for reading my blog this year and would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Kerry
