Oceania Marina Blew me out of the water !!! Part 1

Hello everyone, If you have been speaking to me lately, you will know I spent the day yesterday on the Marina Oceania 5 star luxury Cruise ship, Whilst she was docked in Newcastle will my fellow colleagues Dj, Harry and Shelly. (all from Cruise.co.uk)

My title is not wrong, she was amazing. I have not experienced such luxury before and she definitely has the wow factor. Everywhere you look the ship has style and decadence in droves.

You will have to excuse the name dropping, but there are so many hard not to mention.

Today I am going to tell you about the restaurants as food as you will probably know is one of my favourite past times and with 6 speciality restaurants , you would be hard pressed not to find something magically to dine on. Everyday a new experience. They pride there selves on producing the finest foods on the Ocean. Spending 6 times more than any of the other cruise ships per passenger on the food.

The first one that caught my eye was the Red ginger ; this is Asian, Thai mix. As you enter the decor is breath taking, Beautiful  stunning red leather seats make the dining area a feast to behold. The menu’s are mouth watering and they have 6 different levels of chopstick for the more dis – earning diner.

The second one on my favourite list was the Toscana Restaurant, Tuscan food served in here, with the place setting by Versace (China) at $1200 per place setting, I think I may be worried to dine there but again the menu’s are divine. The colours were beautiful blues. Very chic.

$1200 just for this place setting wow !!!

Number three had to be the The Polo grill , as I am a Steak lover this one ticked all the right boxes. With the Beef provided by USDA (Prime steak) dry aged for 28 days and even a 32 oz on the bone on the menu I am sure I would be right at home here. If you prefer the Lobster that is all farmed in Maine and they only sell to Oceania group.

The Polo Grill

There are 2 others La reserve, wine tasting with gourmet food with speciality chiefs to talk you through the experience. (reservations required), A very special treat.

The last one of the 6 speciality restaurants is Jacques. this is a Parisian Bistro designed and hosted some times by Jacque Pepiris himself. It has a wonderful Parisian feel, with the most eye catching scenic art work some of which is done my the man himself. There is even a self portrait of Jacques himself outside the restaurant.

The Man Himself.

The very Special one is and intimate room for rent :  Privee. This carry’s a charge of just $250 per night. The room only has seating for 10 people so for special occasions a wonderful Idea. The marble oval table weighed so much it had to be Put in place before the next deck was built. Again you will find comfortable leather seats and was designed by Dakota Jackson with a stunning golden Venini Chandelier in the centre. You can order from the menus either side of the room which are the PoloGrill or the Toscana.

I have of course not mentioned the Grand Restaurant, this is the main dining room where we had lunch. The staff were so friendly and the food was a mix from all the speciality restaurants. The decor is very golden , check out the lighting in the centre.

That doesn’t even cover all the places to visit as afternoon tea is served in Horizon at 4pm sharp everyday , The Baristas cafe serving delicious pastries and wonderfully blended Italian signature coffee Then you have too wonderful less formal Buffets , The Wave Grill and the terrace cafe. So something for everyone’s tastes.

Have you been on Oceania ?? Tell me your thoughts about the food and share with others.

I will tell you more about the ship next time……
