Make sure you know exactly what you have booked and its RIGHT for YOU !!!

Hello everyone , I wanted to highlighted something that has come to my attention over the last few weeks. With more and more deals out there , I wanted to make sure you know exactly what you have booked and questions to ask to make sure you get exactly what you want from your cruise. Lets face it you do not want stress on your wonderful Cruise , so hears how to avoid it. ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS !!!!

We don’t want this !!!

We DO want this !!!

First of all make sure the cruise has the itinerary that you want . Remember to ask about tenders (if unsure on your legs.). The cruise ship it’s self is important , (formal or  informal , what do you prefer) then its on to cabin types.

Now if you are a regular cruiser you will know that the different cabin types have different rules e.g. Bella, Fantastica etc with MSC , always check you are happy with what each cabin type pertains too. On some ships the cabin type is where it is positioned on the ship e.g. PA on P &O is a midship inside etc… Always make sure you know if you need to be high up on the ship and Midship then you will pay more for your cabin.

The next thing is dining. On a lot of cruises now you can have freedom dinging or MY time or anytime (all same just different names) . What some people do not realise is that this means you can go to the main dining room and have waiter service same as anyone on fixed dining, you go anytime the dining room is open, but you simply ask for the table size you are happy with (you may be given a buzzer if a table is not free). Some ships do not have tables for 2 , so again if this is important to you ask before booking.

Cocktails for me!!!

Always check what your drinks packages include to make sure you get the right one for you. Be aware that if one person in the cabin has all inclusive then you all normally have to. Also make sure it includes what you want. They do vary company to company. Also a lot of the ships do not include water in their packages.

Bed allocation is one of the most annoying scenarios as they do definitely differ from Cabin to Cabin and Ship to Ship. Its no good getting a 4 berth that has Pullman bunk beds if you are 6ft tall as you will struggle. Some cabins have sofa beds, some have fixed twin beds (not good for a honeymoon , I would imagine). The twins that can be put together to make a double or king size, can e changed when entering your cabin, If like me you had a double on an inside but more room if split then ask your cabin steward to do this for you.

When you have booked the most amazing cruise , make sure you check and double check your invoice to make sure you understand exactly what you have booked , Any issues should be brought up immediately as quite often can not be changed after 24 hrs of booking. If you decide you want to change ANYTHING, go back to your travel agent NOT the cruise company,(the calls can be costly and they don’t inform us every time a customer calls them.) We then are in the dark.
