Who’d Love To See Three Queens?

The three Queens Victoria, Elizabeth & Mary after sailing into Southampton – Liverpool will then be preparing for a summer of celebrations this is to mark the 175th anniversary of Cunard Line, and its spiritual home is the city of Liverpool.

The three ships will be all together on the waterfront for the first time for a carefully choreographed river dance in May, this will be a spectacular site and such a bonus for anyone living in or near the Mersey.

On 4th July QM2 will be back in order to start her historic transatlantic crossing to mark Cunard first ever sailing when RMS Britannia left Liverpool for Boston on July 4th 1840.

The events will be part of the Liverpool’s seven week celebration of “One Magnificent City” and is curated by designer Wayne Hemingway, he will be on board Queen Mary when she arrives into Liverpool (lucky thing) on 24th May for the overnight stay and will join passengers at a concert at the Anglican Cathedral.

The sister ships Victoria and Elizabeth will sail into the Mersey the following morning for the water-borne ballet in front of the magnificent Cunard Building, one of Liverpool’s iconic Three Graces.

QM2 will also include in her voyage visits to Cobh and Dublin in Ireland and Greenock and Oban on Scotland’s west coast.

Its expected a million visitors will be flocking Liverpool for the event, I would love to be there to see it, so if your planning on going you best get your place bagged now then!
