Au Revoir Samson & Goliath In Belfast

After a hectic day with lots of sightseeing around the attractions of  Belfast, we stumbled across Smithfield Market opposite the Castle court Shopping Centre. Full of interesting shops too like Collectibles and Souvenirs, Second hand goods,  Boxing & Martial arts to name but a few and needless to say we had to do a bit more shopping. Special mention to the girls in the Belfast Information Centre who couldn’t do enough for us.

All this walking around makes you hungry and thirsty so we decided it was time to go for something to eat and drink & there was no shortage of drinking houses that’s for sure we stumbled across a nice & friendly bar on  Great Victoria Street,  It was getting quite busy by this time and due to time limits we could only have a swift half but promised a very friendly gentleman who was propping up the bar we would return again.

The ship was beckoning much to our disappointment and already we had plans for a return to the Emerald Isle. I think the next time we visit it will probably be by ferry and we’ll bring the car and stay at hotels that way we can really appreciate the city better, its nice to be on the ship but it is only ever a fleeting visit.

Back on Boudicca it was time for a brief Gin & Tonic before our final dinner, this had been an absolute pleasure a visit to Ireland, it had so much more to offer than either the two us had imagined, the main thing which stood out far from anything else was the friendless of the people – just across the pond from us was unbelievable, not saying the English are unsociable but……………………………

So it was a brief glance back at Samson & Goliath ( the two great yellow cranes) now much loved landmarks of the city, as we were reliably  informed by a very keen taxi driver taking us back to the ship – next port Liverpool.

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading our adventure & if so let me know.
