My Nautica Experience – WOW

Hi Everyone

Last month I was lucky enough to spend a day on the Queen Victoria and this month I had the pleasure of spending the day on board the Nautica which is Oceania s 2nd oldest ship, built in 2000, entered service in 2005 and refurnished in 2014. The Nautica being a older ship I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was also thinking that if Oceania are a step above the likes of Cunard, Celebrity & Princess then surely this will WOW me, and it did !!

Once aboard I stepped straight into the Atrium and we headed up the grand stair case, old fashioned but stunning , it had such a warm feel. The ship has art around every corner and you can get headsets to give you a guided tour of the ships art and what each painting represents.

I then headed to Horizons, where I enjoyed a mimosa. This is an elegant observation lounge with floor to ceiling windows and a country club casual vibe, it you can enjoy tea & drinks here and transforms into a sophisticated evening venue by night where you can dance the night away to lively musical group and enjoy cocktails.

We then headed to the Lounge which is where the main entertainment takes place. Entertainment on board the Nautica is low key, acts such as comedians, live music etc, you wont see acrobats swinging from ropes on this ship. I did love the entrance to the lounge, the pillars are beautiful.

If you Dont fancy Horizons or the Lounge you can head to the Casino or Martinis where you can sample some world famous cocktails. You can also head to Waves pool bar during the day while you relax and soak up the sun(if that’s what you like to do of course)

My mouth was watering when I read the menu for the Waves Grill, everything sounded delicious and is freshly made to order. It comprised of Burgers, Hot dogs and sandwiches but not just your regular burger, these were gourmet !!! This is great when you are relaxing on the pool deck and don’t fancy eating in the buffet or main restaurant.

The dining experience continues…..

The Bistro – French Cuisine which is a section within the Grand Dining room.

Terrace Cafe – Breakfast, lunch or dinner here. Pizza, pasta, Seafood and a range of meats.

Tuscana – Italian food Presented on elegant, custom-designed Versace china worth appox £1000 per sitting.

Polo Grill – Steakhouse Grill

I was very luck to experience a 6 course lunch in the grand dining room, the food was fantastic and the beef definitely rivaled the Queen Victoria’s which I had a few weeks ago. I can safely say Oceania are not called the cruise line for foodies for nothing !!
