Cyprus We Have Arrived

Its summer holiday time and I am currently sunning it up in Cyprus. We flew from Glasgow Airport yesterday morning and will be spending the next 7 days at our own Villa with private pool. This is a very different experience for us as we normally spend our summer holiday at 5 star all inclusive resorts in Turkey and last year we went to Cape Verde. This week I am looking forward to not having to clock watch, normally were like ok we need to get to breakfast before 10 am, is it 1 pm yet for lunch and right we need to be at the restaurant at 7 pm to avoid the mad rush and get a decent table. Not needing to rush for a sun lounger will be nice !!

I am here in Cyprus in the resort of Protaras with my Husband, Son, Mum, Dad, and brother. We are just planning on having a very chilled out week with our days spent mostly by the pool. We also have a Lidl on a few mins drive away which is great for getting our shopping every other day. My Mum and I headed to Lidl this morning and we have bought some fresh meat to have a BBQ this evening and of course plenty of Prosecco and Beers. We haven’t hired a car but the resort center of Protaras is about a 20-minute walk which isn’t too far,  and our villa is only a couple of minutes walk to the main road where buses run along every 15 minutes or so.

The resort itself has plenty to offer with the waterpark for my son only 15-minute bus ride away. The resort also has a small aquarium close by. I haven’t ventured far yet but apparently the small beaches nearby are beautiful, were not great beach lovers and normally prefer the pool.

In the evenings we won’t be eating out much as my brother has severe learning difficulties so its just easier if we eat in our villa. We all went to Disneyland Paris back in May but this is his first proper holiday abroad and so far he is loving it.

Well, I better go and put some more sun cream on because it is hot hot hot !!!
