A Queen For The Day, My Cunard Experience Part 1

Hi Everyone

If you have read all about me you will know that i live in Greenock, Scotland which is a port of call for Many British Isles Cruises with ships visiting every other day from May to October. Last Wednesday the Queen Victoria paid my home town a visit and i was lucky enough to spend the day on board so i just want to tell you about my experience.

When i arrived at the port my first thoughts were wow, what a beautiful ship, so different from any of the others i have seen. I love that Cunard ships all have that traditional look even from the exterior.

We boarded the Victoria and entered the Lobby which is very grand and decorated with Marble, Gold and brown colours which i was expecting but when you see it in person its very beautiful and not as old looking as i thought it would be. We headed up the staircase and there was a glass cabinet showing off all the Lady Godiva chocolates which we got to sample, i kept my little box for later as we were going to have a 3 course lunch and i am not a big eater so didn’t want to spoil it.

Next to the Chocolates is the entrance to the Chart Room which is new to the Victoria after her refit. This operates as a elegant yet casual lounge service refreshments. during the day you can have light breakfast or lunches and in the evening you can enjoy cocktails, snacks and of course Lady Godiva chocolates.

We then headed up to the Grills Bar Lounge which is exclusively for Grills Suite guests only. My favorite part of the Grills exclusive facilities  was the outside area which your can read from the Queens Grill Restaurant. It was just like little Italy and the perfect quite spot to have a coffee and read in peace.

Look out for my next blog on the 7th June to find out more……
