Have you got a Cruise Bucket List?

Imagine for a moment you have written down your top 20 destinations around the world on the back of a cigarette packet whilst having a chat with some like minded friends. You would all love to visit these incredible destinations together but you see them only as a dream or that there are far too many to imagine being able to spend the next 20-30 years traveling to tick them off one by one.

According to a Hero of mine, Tony Robbins the biggest fear of baby boomers is “missing out on a dream through procrastination”, Perhaps you can relate.

Here are just a few of my bucket list travel destinations to get you started thinking about your own, and I am going to tell you why cruising is the only way for me to make sure I see the best of them.

1) Spend a day on a private island in the Caribbean. One of the most undiscovered untouched parts of the world where it feels as though tourists have not spoilt the beauty and luxury of the Sun drenched beach paradise islands. Some of the world’s finest 5-star cruise lines have purchased their own luxury islands off the Bahamas. Such as Princess, Holland and America, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, NCL, and even Disney. If you compare this trip to a day on Richard Branson’s Necker Island there’s no comparison.

2) Visit Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii and The Island of Capri. There are so many options for the Mediterranean itineraries where ships dock for a full day in the port of Naples with some of the most incredible sites in the world. Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, MSC to name but a few.

3) Take a walk up Machai Pichu. One of The wonders of the World I have to see. There are so many beautiful destinations to combine in a South American cruise with most of the best cruise liners having itineraries in South America.

4) Transit The Panama Canal There are only a few of the world’s cruise ships that are built to transit the Panama Canal (Panamax Size) one of the world’s finest engineering projects. There are so many beautiful options to take in South America’s finest itineraries as well as a breathtaking night and day transiting of the Panama Canal itself. Holland and America as well as Oceana, Princess and NCL cruises are specialists in this field.

5) Visit ancient Greece’s religious and archeological artifacts and monuments such as Acropolis and The Parthenon. I recently returned from an incredible trip on The Celebrity Reflection where I actually got to live out a few of my bucket list travel destinations. One of these was spending two days and an overnight in Athens. There is so much to see here and it’s so nice that many cruise lines now spend overnight in many ports worldwide.

6) Visit Thailand and Malaysia: On The Diamond Princess which is a 5-star cruise line renowned for its destination emersion program some of the most detailed excursions available at Sea to get you closer to more of the things you want to see.

7) Enjoy A River cruise to get closer to Towns & Cities. River cruises are completely different to Ocean voyages cruises typically allow you to sail via a countries coastline but River cruises allow you to access the countries very makeup often coasting along a small river boat discovers more of inland. Taking full advantage of meal times around time in port. The thing that appeals to me is the scenic view is always at your eye level.
