Is it time to visit The Med in The Winter?

This week has seen some of the highest temperatures in Northern Europe in Fact Southern France recorded a record 45.7 degrees. As our Continent seems content to keep surprising us with often unbearable temperatures. It begs the question if it is Too Hot! is it time to start visiting the med in the Winter?

With more and more cruise ships especially the likes of MSC, Costa Cruises, and Celestyal offering cruises throughout the whole of the winter in the heart of the Med where temperatures in Greece and Italy can still reach 20 plus degrees.

This could finally be the opportunity to visit the gorgeous Santorini or Dubrovnic at times when there are not too many visitors as well as the fact the pricing is practically half or sometimes a third of the prices in high season of June to August.

Over the years for me the novelty of blistering sun and sunbathing has somewhat escaped me and I would much rather visit a local attraction and see the towns and cities without the draining blistering sun getting in the way. Don’t get me wrong I still like to see plenty of sunshine and the last thing I would want is for my photos to have grey clouds and look miserable but let’s face it you can still have perfect blue skys in March without the hefty price tag.

I have just found a cruise in March on the Celestyal Olympia offering a drinks package cruise only cost is just £539 PP for an inside cabin. this coupled with an easy jet low cost flight Athens return represents a trip for 2 under £1,300.

As Europe is heating up and we have much warmer climates as the years go on I ask you what temperature does it need to be for you to be tempted by the allure of the Med?
