A HIGHLY UNUSUAL HOLIDAY REVIEW

As a company we  have one of the largest cruise review sites in the UK. It enables customers far and wide to share the good and sometimes not so good times they have had on their recent cruise holiday. Reviews include many opinions on destinations , dining and service on board many ships across the globe to share with others who may appreciate the honest feed back when going on their own cruise. Nothing though prepared me for the recent review I received  from a lovely couple who had just returned from their trip . They had spent month by month planning their trip of a lifetime which also included celebrating 50 years of marriage and meeting  up with their son on the other side of the world who they haven’t seen in a long while.

HUSBAND AND WIFE ON THEIR DREAM HOLIDAY

In all honest planning this trip had a few hiccups along the way, they booked a fabulous trip to Australia including stays in Sydney, Singapore and a stop in Melbourne to take in the Melbourne Grand Prix, this had been on their wishlist for years so it was great to put the package together for them which also meant their son who lives in Brisbane was able to fly out to Melbourne to join them for the a few days and to take in the Grand Prix too.  A cruise with Celebrity took them from Singapore to Sydney with a stay in Singapore before they flew back home. The hiccup was Celebrity decided to cancel the sailing as they had chartered out the Millenium to a private group, very rare but can happen . With all flights, accommodation, Hotel, Transfers and Grand Prix Tickets booked it was a stressful time for all . Luckily Princess cruises had a similar itinerary but on a different date so with a bit of a reshuffle we finally put back together this package that was their dream and this is what they had to say.

Going to Oz was not about the weather.

It was our special time,50 years together.

It wasn’t very easy getting on the plane

As leaving our family caused some pain.

We had to look ahead with joy and glee,

For after all it included going to the Grand Prix.

So come on, this was no time to shirk,

The icing on the cake was  we are gonna see Kirk.

Those memories of him are all in my heart,

I cried all day when we had to part.

But nothing can take those memories away,

So on to our cruise come what may.

But my mind starts to think of family at home,

How I miss them so much and feel so forlorn,

I look at my soul mate, my best friend Clive,

Then think in a flash it’s good to be alive.

First stop Sydney, what would we do?

Clive saw a jet boat and shouted Wahoo!,

We sped round the harbour at lighting pace,

Clothes all dripping and water in face.

Next stop was Perth with our first day of sun

It brought back memories of Kirk and fun.

We sat and watched seagulls and children on trips,

Then went into “Sweetlips” and had fish n chips.

Next stop was Thailand, we went on a trip,

It was hot hot hot  and we nearly had a fit!

So many Buddha’s and temples all around,

Sweat pouring off us and dripping on the ground.

Back to the ship to relax some more,

Watch the sea go by and a distant shore.

Dancing, live music and food on the deck

Need a hug from Leo n Rach, feel their arms around my neck

Vietnam was our next Port of call,

We looked at the shops and the market hall.

So hot with mopeds and bikes in a hurry,

Went into Macdonald’s and had a mcflurry.

And now our cruise has come to an end,

Goodbye Diamond Princess our trusted friend.

She carried us over the equator to land sun known,

And now here we are, on our way home.

As I look back, it wasn’t a dream,

Just life we didn’t know with a touch of cream.

We had seen Buddha’s and temples and mad men on scooters,

And could have got killed if it weren’t for their hooters!

So as we see the land and say bye to the sea,

We look forward to being with our loved family.

We’ve loved the journey and enjoyed the roam,

We are so grateful to our God for bringing us safely home.

CELEBRATING 50 YEARS TOGETHER

We all go away for various reasons and many are for romantic celebrations or honeymoons and birthdays and that is a lovely part of the job , putting together a package like this from the beginning and personally seeing it through to the end. Life is for making memories and seeing the world whilst we can. I just want to say a huge thank you to such a wonderful lady and her husband Mr and Mrs Buckler for allowing me to help them make their memories and for their comments on my service which read

We have just arrived home from our cruise of a lifetime which was organised by Holly.Words cant express what an amazing time we had.We began by going to the Australian grand prix, which was a WOW experience, followed by a cruise around Australia, then Bali,Thailand,Vietnam and Singapore..At every point along the way, from hotels to airports, the pre arranged smart chauffeurs were there, exactly on time, in the exact place that had been arranged. In fact words cant express what an incredible experience we had, thanks to the hard work that Holly put in,often going beyond what was expected to make our holiday a memory that will be in my heart always.Thank you Holly.
