At 8.50am on Monday 8th August 1988, I took my first steps into a Travel Agency for my very first day at work. Unbeknown to where this step into adult life would take me! I was a shy (I know hard to believe) young girl as I walked through the door. First Impressions was a small smoke filled square office, brochure racks on the left and right a counter in the middle, which I approached to say a very nervous hello to the big boss Dave and manager Fiona who were currently sitting chatting having a cup of tea and a cigarette. Well to be fair those were the days of the 80’s.

Christmas came and went in the blink of an eye and what does that now lead us too? The busiest, craziest time in a cruise consultants calender year.
We literally wake up on the 27th December and do not go to bed until the 28th February. Yes we sleep, but at our desks once the clock strikes midnight if lucky. Its like the queue at Next on boxing Day morning and multiplying it by 10 which will give you an inclination of how my days will be in the coming weeks. 😉

I know it is that time of year again, where has the year gone .
Wow where do I start so much has happened this year in the cruise industry and also on a personal level as many of you know but I wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thankyou from myself and that I really appreciate your continued support throughout the year. As you know this isn’t just a job to me that I am passionate about it is so much more than that and so many of you have become friends.
That’s what makes this job so amazing , the one to one personal service I give you allows me to get to know you on a personal level as it does you in me too.

A customer of mine recently returned from a wonderful trip around Australia and New Zealand on Voyager of the Seas .
A great time was had and then one afternoon by chance my customers wife who is Norwegian overheard a conversation by some officers sat next to her who were also in conversation speaking Norwegian. Of course you wouldn’t expect to travel to Australia and New Zealand and hear your language being spoken by anyone on board.

A very sad day today after it was announced only a few hours ago that Monarch Airlines have now ceased trading. Monarch is the country’s 5th biggest airline and the largest ever to go into administration. It was announced at 4am this morning because as the airline automatically loses it’s operating licence they had to wait until their were no planes in the air and this was at 4am.

They say the mark of a good company isn’t just about the high level of service and the knowledge and efficency of the cruise consultant you book with. It is when something goes wrong and subsequently how it is handled that makes the difference.

I was approached in June 2016 by a lovely lady looking for a cruise to go in the school holidays of 2017. Looking for a family cruise I had 3 recommendations Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line and the brand new MSC Meraviglia. I am an avid fan of both Royal and NCL but for me there was only really one choice and that was the Meraviglia . Brand New, state of the art and a first at Sea for MSC. A ship that has nothing other than the WOW Factor filled with exciting new firsts that the whole family can enjoy. This is a ship where seeing is believing on where you are on a magical mystery tour with surprises galore that could only be described as a new wonderland at sea.
