Empty Nest ….love it or hate it

Its going to be all change in the Henderson household in a few weeks ….after a busy summer we will be joining the ’empty nest’ gang .

Over the summer our 2 sons Connor and Sam are home from university for the summer, Ellie was 18 and Heather has been away all summer in Portugal surfing.
Next week we will all be together for a few weeks till they all part and go off on there adventures again.

Sam and Connor are both back at uni for there second years and from September 17th we will experience the ’empty nest’ for the first time as Ellie also heads off to uni.

3 children all at uni at once , thank goodness for student loans!
Going from a household of 6 and 2 dogs to just Stu and I will take some adjusting , how have you coped with the infamous ’empty nest’?
Will I be a crazed mother constantly checking on my daughter Ellie as she settles into her new uni life at Manchester Met to study fashion buying and marketing or will I sit and enjoy the peace, lack of washing and a full fridge?
If last night is anything to go by when for the first time in years I really was home alone other than Jacko the dog for company as Stu and Sam have gone out to Portugal to bring Heather home from her 7 week surfing adventure and Con and Ellie were away with friends I must admit the quietness of the house was eerie….think our neighbors will of loved it though!
Ellie has a countdown and we are now 33 days till empty nest, uni shopping is done and  its just awaiting results day on Thursday now .
We have managed to sneak in a quick girly trip to Gran Canaria just the two of us before she spreads her wings and have some quality time together in September for some sun sand and sangria.
