Cruiselines and Airlines saving £’s

Everyday I speak to clients who have returned from there cruises to see how they’ve enjoyed themsleves and to get feedback to use for my future clients.
These conversations are important as if clients have had a bad experience I can discuss it with them and if need be offer suggestions .
More and more I am hearing how they feel that the cruiselines and not just one in particular but a mixed bag all seem to be making cutbacks in what my clients see as the on board experience.
These go from dining standards dropping with whats offered on board to even the good old chocolate on the pillow not making an appearance.

Even the towel art seems to be disappearing.
Even the airlines are now reducing the services they offer, British Airways has announced that on some flights instead of the sandwich snack meal offered as a second meal they will offer a chocolate bar …….who wants a chocolate bar on a long haul flight?

Instead of two full meals passengers will get only one and might have to make do with snacks if they get hungrier later in the flight. The choices of alcohol and complimentary snacks will not be affected, a BA spokesman said.

Is the next move to make us pay for our meals?
The annoying aspect of this to clients is that prices arent going down with the introduction of these savings for the operators but going up!

You even have to pay British Airways now if you want to pre book a seat unless you wait till 24 hours befopre departure and do the on line check in , thats ok for your outbound flight but who wants to mess around on the last day of your holiday checking in at airports to make sure that you can sit together?
Questions are asked from my clients to me as is this to compensate for the enhancements they now offer to tempt us all to book with them , is the ‘free’ drinks package costing us in other areas of the cruise ?
I’ve just booked a cruise for next year and recieved free flights with Royal Caribbean , have these free flights come at a price from another part of my cruise or are they a genuine offer?
My last cruise had free drinks and to be fair the only thing I noticed was that I didnt get any towel art in our cabin , I can live with that for free drinks.

What cost saving experiences have you experienced?
