I’m back in my happy place – a Spa.

Nothing relaxes me more than a self-indulgent trip to the Spa, whether I am at home, hunched over my computer booking cruises for my lovely clients, and most definitely when I am on holiday..

I always check out the Spa facilities, and book myself in for a well-deserved and desperately needed full body massage. Yep! Don’t stop at the back! I ache all over! A very close second, and another must-have is a facial. I just love to be pampered! Even a pedicure is so relaxing.

So imagine my delight when I visited the Oasis Spa & Health Club on board P&O’s latest addition to the fleet, Britannia! Oh My! What a joy to behold! I think this is the best Spa I have been to so far!

The amount of treatments I could have from head to toe! I could seriously live there! From Facials (using my absolute favourite – Elemis) Stone Therapy, Bamboo Seaweed Massages! Cellulite & Colon Therapy? Hmmmm… might put that to the ‘bottom’ of my list of treatments.

Ionithermie Revitalising Leg Therapy (needed after walking around the ship – she’s huge!) Acupuncture – seems it helps me to rebalance myself?? Oh and it’s holistic…. As I remember, having had acupuncture on my back a few years ago, it hurt!

The Spa even has a ‘Couples Treatment’ room, where they can have a relaxing massage together.. hmmmm.. I know what you’re thinking but…..

………. in reality one of them would end up snoring and killing the mood!

What I found very impressive, and unusual for a Spa is the Men’s Grooming section. Men can be quite shy about entering a Spa but I have to say, the Pro-Collagen Grooming Treatment with Shave experience, for just under an hour, would be very far removed from the local Barber’s with the obligatory ‘anything for the weekend Sir’ conversation! I’m sure my other half would give it a go!

After all that pampering where else to relax and unwind than in Britannia’s very own Retreat! My absolute favourite place on the whole ship! Mainly because it’s Adult Only, quiet, serene, and beautifully decorated to create a stress free tranquil environment. With private cabanas so you can fall asleep confident in the knowledge that you will not be seen by your fellow passengers with your mouth open and dribbling!
