UK versus Abroad!

I have recently returned from a weeks holiday in Poole, Dorset.  This was quite unusual for me as for years we have been going abroad for our holidays to get some sun.  My in laws have got a Caravan at Rockley Park in Poole and they go down there quite a lot however we have never been for a holiday.  We travelled down late on the Saturday night and had 8 nights at the park.  Our car was totally packed up and we had bought lots of new things to take with us.  Normally we pack a suitcase each and jump on a plane.  The first day we decided to go and do a food shop and take a look around.  The weather wasn’t great but I wasn’t too bothered as we had things to do this day.

The weather was something I was a little worried about as I do like to be in the sun.  We didn’t have the best of weather through our week however we did make it to the beach a few days.  We went to Bournemouth beach and also to Sandbanks.  It was nice to drive around Sandbanks and look at the big posh houses.  I can dream!  We had one day where it rained all day and we decided to drive to New Forest and we also went to Oceanarium at Bournemouth.  The whole holiday was relaxing although we did use the car everyday.  We ate out most nights apart from a Pizza take away and a BBQ one night.  We kept talking while we were there how the holiday compared to our normal holidays abroad.

We both decided it felt so much more relaxed although we actually did more.  It was nice not to worry about airport security or flight delays and sitting on a coach to get to your resort.  We did want we wanted and went for dinner when we wanted.  The park itself is a large park with lots of facilities.  We both had an owners pass where we got discount for everything we bought and there is an owners area with a big outdoor pool and lounge.  We really had a great week although the weather wasn’t great and have both decided that we will ditch the abroad holiday again fro September and take another holiday down by the coast.
