MSC Myths And Tales

As you know I sailed on MSC Preziosa a couple of weeks ago from Venice to Barcelona.

This was the first time I had been on an MSC Ship and was really impressed with the facilities.

There are a lot of myths about sailing with MSC, put about mainly by people who have never sailed with them I think! Its all pizza and pasta, the PA announcements are all in Italian, the staff are rude etc etc.

Well, I think I should set the record straight on a few of these. Yes, you can eat pizza and pasta if thats what you want – and let me tell you, its all freshly cooked and delicious. But if you want mouth wateringly tender steak or a fantastic fish extravaganza – then you have those options too. We also enjoyed great lunches and dinners in both of the main dining rooms – served beautifully by very attentive and courteous waiters.

As for the announcements in Italian, we also heard French, German and Spanish too – well can you imagine the uproar if the Italians or any other nationality did not receive their muster instruction is their own language??? I can honestly say that was possibly one of the only times we heard other languages over the PA, the rest of the time the announcements were mainly in English.

As for the staff – I could not fault them. They were attentive and helpful. Drinks came quickly and were well presented. My only negative comment was that I didn’t see my cabin steward, although all my requests were dealt with promptly when I called housekeeping.

The ship itself is glamorous, light, spacious and well organised. Just take a look at some of my pictures. Trip the light fantastic down those stunning staircases.

All in all I had a great time and will definitely recommend the newer class of MSC ships to my customers. We know its not Regent or Seabourn – but if you want good value for money, good food then try an MSC cruise I am sure you won’t be disappointed.
