Cruising Is Becoming Safer – That’s A Fact

Can you believe that it was just over 3 years ago that 32 lives were lost when the Costa Concordia sank off the coast of the Giglio?

To mark this sad anniversary, we here at www.cruise.co.uk have polled over 200,000 of our users asking them for their thoughts on the safety on board cruise ships, since the tragedy.

Did you know that 10 new safety procedures have been introduced ? and the results  show that the majority of cruisers definitely feel safer for these additions, and 71% asked feel that cruising is a safer method of travel when comparing it to air travel.

73% feel that the safety procedures are clearly explained and that ships have been enhanced since January 2012.

This is all great news.

But can you believe that 8% of those asked admitted to not paying attention to the safety drills! Those will be the same people who ignore the safety demonstration on board an aircraft – I hope that I am never in such an horrific event and if I am unfortunate enough to be in that position, I hope I am not behind any of that 8%.

All I can say is keep up the good work to all involved in the cruise industry.
