BEWARE! ACHTUNG! ATTENTION!

These days we live in a world that is full of Social Media – it is impossible to get away from it. In fact, the very job I do involves Facebook, Google Plus, Blogs etc – but I think. for a good reason. However, increasingly, we seem unable to enjoy the smallest of things without the need to broadcast this to all and sundry. Personally – that’s not me,   – for one, I don’t think I am important or interesting enough to warrant telling the world what I have have had for my tea. However, it seems that a large percentage of us feel we must communicate with a world wide audience the minutest details of our lives.

Many of us I am sure have been sat on a train, in a bank – you can probably name most public places and have had to endure an individual discussing their intimate secrets, financial details etc.

BUT BE VERY AWARE OF WHAT YOU PUBLISH ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA !!!!!

It was reported yesterday that there has been a sharp increase in thefts from homes as more and more people are posting where and when they are travelling, publishing pictures on line splashing around in the pool etc etc.

DON’T DO IT.

As a minimum, make sure you turn off the locator on your phone so at least if you comment it won’t show that you are away from your local area.

Limit who you post to about your holiday or for that matter your day trip -these low life’s that invade our homes and take away our belief that our home is a safe haven, are continually on the lookout for a chink in our armour.

We all work hard to enjoy our holidays so in the famous words spoken in Hill St Blues – I am showing my age now – ” Hey – let’s be safe out there “
