Carnival Vista Could Change It All

I have blogged in the past to express my disappointment as to why Carnival Cruise Lines have never managed to really crack Europe with their own fleet.

Of course, they do actually need to since they own numerous lines that flood the European ports each week. Household names like P&O & Cunard Lines all fall under the Carnival umbrella.

In recent years Carnivals own trademark ships have just not quite managed to succeed out here. Competition from their big rivals Royal Caribbean saw to it that Carnivals ships always came second best. To the point that they even pulled the plug on Carnival Splendour’s entire season a few years back.

However, the emergence of this years latest offering from Carnival, The Vista looks set to change that, with an almost full quota for their main summer sailings from Barcelona, and a ship that looks set to rival the best.

Some clever design work and some tinkering with the on board brands has really given The Vista what could turn out to be a winning formula.

Carnival’s reputation in the market is something of a mixed bag, some love it, some loathe it.

Their attitude towards days at sea for example. Listed on their itineraries as ‘Fun Day At Sea’. For me it’s the right approach, but for others, perhaps the term, ‘Relaxing Day at Sea’ would be more appropriate.

Also the age group on many of the Carnival ships out in the Caribbean is much younger, giving a more buoyant but perhaps more boisterous atmosphere.

The are many reasons why it’s not quite worked for them here but one thing is for certain, they have put their money where their mouth is with the new Carnival Vista, and I really believe that this time it’s going to go down a storm with the European market. I even have family booked on the summer cruise I’m that confident!

We shall see anyway, it’s all very exciting! Normally I would have pictures to show you but since the ship isn’t built yet it’s rather difficult!

Are you booked on Carnival Vista? Have you booked with Carnival before?

Love to know peoples thoughts on this, so feel free to reply to my blog!

Thanks for reading and as always, until next time……………………..
