Jane McDonald Is Back!

No doubts all cruisers old and new will be tuning in to channel 5’s glorious TV show ‘Cruising With Jane McDonald’ tonight.

I watched the last series initially thinking I’d hate it, and to be honest I did.

No I’m only joking of course, the silly singing at the end I can do without but the show itself I think has really opened up a lot of people’s eyes to the wonderful world of the cruise ship.

Lot’s of my friends have shown more and more of an interest since the airing of the last series, so hopefully this latest series will be just as informative and honest as the last one.

What I like about Jane is that she is your no-nonsense Northern lass. She tells it how it is, and gives you a more ‘everyday’ approach to a cruise holiday. There isn’t any bias in her, other than her love of the industry, and she gives everything a go whilst she’s both on ship and off it.

For us this type of media coverage is worth it’s weight in gold because it’s effectively a free information service for new potential customers.

Last series I had a customer book an MSC cruise purely based on the fact that ‘Jane loved it’. Brilliant. I didn’t really have to do much work apart from get the customer a brilliant price, which goes without saying really!

I am genuinely looking forward to watching her take on the next few ships she tries, and seeing what new ships and destinations she has in store.

I think what I like most about the show is the energy that surrounds it. A lot of folks think that cruising is for a higher age group that just sit around playing bridge, drinking sherry all day. And to a degree this may be true. But I’m a 32 year old man, that loves to play poker drinking whisky all day – so what’s the difference?

It’s great that Jane has bundles of energy and really shows what you can achieve on cruising, be it relaxing, touring, eating, drinking, and enriching, whatever she does she gives 100% to the TV show, all in the name of cruising, it’s a joy to watch.
