Are Holland America Statistically The Worlds Best Cruise Line?

OK so I don’t know anything about statistics, nor have I done any research into this subject other that my own observations, but I’m throwing this question into the ring on account of my own interest and curiosity.

What’s prompted this is a few recent reviews, feedback, general conversations with customers about their experiences. Blended with a few sales questions from my own job.

So what do I look for as an agent when considering a cruise for my clients?

Well of course that always depends on the customer, but the cruise line should be diverse, and of interest to a mixed bag of clientele. It should be modern and sharp, without losing the true character of what it means to be on a cruise. It should have a high end feel, be well designed, and one thing you must have is an exceptional dining experience. I also prefer the cruise line to bill itself as 5 Star. Why? Well, why not? Ultimately if you are looking at cruising , you should anticipate luxury, and for me, 4 Star doesn’t scream luxury.

The best feedback I have received about a ship recently was a phone call I had with a client about the latest Holland America ship, The Koningsdam.

He had cruised several times before over various products, and after a glittering review of the ship, his parting comment was, ‘I doubt we will sail on a different ship in the near future’

BOOOM! Well done Holland America, as quotes go, that is one of the best you can expect.

But this customer wasn’t the only one to report back this phenomenal review, there have been others who have come back and given me amazing feedback.

Don’t get me wrong I get great feedback all the time, but this ship seems to have hit the right buttons and has stuck in my memory over all others.

So going back to my strap line for this blog…………

I reckon Holland America are up there if not the best line in the world overall – let’s take a look at some evidence:

Astute and inspired staff

OK, again I hear you say, there are several cruise lines offering all the above. But there is a difference between offering and delivering.

The reason I back Holland America all the way is because they deliver. With the exception of perhaps Celebrity Cruises whom I also love, they are for me a brilliant all-rounder and a great contender for title of the unplaceable Worlds Best Cruise Line.

I’d love to know peoples thoughts on this one, and if you agree or disagree?
