Lifelong Cruise ban for stupidity..

A man, and his 3 travelling face have now been given a lifetime ban from cruising with Royal Caribbean following what can only be classed as sheer “stupidity”..

Whilst Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas was docked in the Bahamas, Nick Naydev aged 27 decided to jump off his 11th floor balcony in to the sea and have this videoed by a friend to post to his instagram account.

Naydev didn’t comment on the aftermath of this incident on his own instagram account other than in comments of the video to say:

“My feet were actually fine. It was my neck and tailbone that hurt,” he wrote. “Could barely walk for 3 days and could barely sleep from the pain. I’m good now.”

However passengers on board, and also the friend that filmed the video, have reported that he was picked up by a small boat and escorted on to the ship by police to gather his things and leave the cruise.  Following interrogation by the ships authorities all 4 of the men were kicked off the ship and given a lifetime ban.

The friend that took the video has said that they didn’t even consider the consequences from the cruise line and that they just wanted to make a video and make it go viral…

Representatives from Royal Caribbean Cruises have also called the incident “stupid.”

“This was stupid and reckless behaviour, and he and his companions have been banned from ever sailing with us again, We are exploring legal action”

With the very sad news coming through this morning of another crew member going overboard from the Majesty of the Seas.  These incidents show that this could have ended so terribly tragically.

I understand this is very different to the stupid act of the viral video, and thoughts and prayers are with the family of this crew member.  Also in all of our thoughts, are the family members of other crew members who have sadly gone overboard – most recently a 20 year old British Dancer Aaron Hough.
