Gratuities On Royal Caribbean

I was speaking to one of my customers the other day Mr S who has recently just returned from a Royal Caribbean Cruise, he was extremely unhappy with the way they have changed how you pre pay your gratuities, normally if you choose to pre pay them the night before you disembark the Ship you receive several envelopes in your cabin to hand to your head waiter, cabin steward and so on and they then can exchange them.

They have now changed to a policy where this is all done electronic and you don’t receive anything to hand over at the end of the Cruise, leaving people feel a little embarrassed and awaked on the last night when they don’t have anything to hand over.

Not wanting to seem tight clients then felt they had to tip again so in affect they had tipped twice.

I Think they should go back to the old system which has worked for many years and maybe it’s a way of getting even more money from passengers. What do you think?
