Winter Sunshine

The cold days and dark nights are definitely well and truly setting in now as we head into December and I have to admit I do not like it one bit! Summer is my favorite time of year, I love the warmth on my skin, wearing Summer dresses and sandals and most of all no winter coats!

So this year my family and I decided to head of for a little winter sunshine and we flew out to Lanzarote at the end of November. I had been to Lanzarote 4 times already so decided to try another resort and we booked for Playa Blanca right in the south of the island.

It was to be my little boys 2nd time travelling abroad so I wanted to make sure we stayed in a family friendly property, he is 11 months and there is so much to consider , we opted for a family friendly all inclusive, which meant meal times were easy no searching for restaurants , plenty of other children and babys around making plenty of noise so we could easily fit in!

Playa Blanca is very much a family resort, with a beautiful beach and a small town with shops and restaurants.

The weather was fantastic, much better than I had anticipated for with bright sunshine every day and average temperatures of 24c, although the pools were ice cold! Not ideal for a baby who loves the water!

We spent our days strolling into town, sunbathing around the pools and beach and then out for dinner on the evening. With a baby in tow we were always tucked up nice and early, so we never experienced the night entertainment!

I had originally looked at a Canary Islands cruise, but I was worried the weather wasn’t going to be great and would make the seas choppy, but I wish I hadn’t have worried now, the weather was so fantastic the cruise option would have been perfect!

If you are looking for a Winter Sunshine cruise I would now say don’t hesitate to head to the Canary’s the weather is fantastic, we will definitely head of on a cruise next time!
