Cruise.co.uk Christmas Conference

Every year our annual Christmas company conference is held onboard  cruise liner, and I have now been lucky enough to attend every year, except for last year when I was heavily pregnant!

So this year 120 members of staff headed of to the Balmoral, this was a blast form the past for myself and a few others as the Cruise.co conference was held onboard the Balmoral back in December 2009!

The Balmoral was all set up for Christmas with Christmas Trees all around the ship , and my favorite was the Gingerbread house display in the atrium.

My main memory from my time onboard the Fred Olsen Balmoral was that the food was fantastic, so I was looking forward to seeing if this was still the case!

The cruise was a 70s theme, and whilst onboard for 3 nights we were to have a 70s fancy dress theme 1 evening which turned out to be a fantastic evening with some great outfits, heres myself and my husband David!

We stayed in an outside cabin on deck 5, which was of a great size, plenty of storage, I was very impressed with the amount of drawers and wardrobe space, and a good size bathroom too.

The ship was docked overnight in Brugge, this must be maybe my 5th time visiting Brugge, so you could say I know the area well, but I still decided to disembark just to buy some chocolate and treat myself to a Baileys hot chocolate too!

And to get back to my favorite topic, food! Yes, I was completely right from my previous experience the food onboard the Balmoral is still top notch, from breakfast, lunch to evening meal which we were allocated the Spey, the food onboard was brilliant. And i have to say the Fillet Mignon on formal evening was to die for, definitely a highlight for me and I even opted for 2 puddings on my final evening, why not eh!

We all had a fantastic trip , for me down memory lane on the Balmoral and I would happily recommend the ship. OK she is nothing glamorous but that isn’t what Fred Olsen are about, its a homely, friendly ship with brilliant staff.
