Sad News For The Cruising World

Unfortunate form time to time accidents happen to passengers whilst on there shore excursions and recently a terrible accident happened and ended in the loss of life. P&O’s Azura was on her Caribbean voyage and docked for the day in Dominica, which is a beautiful Caribbean Island with so much to offer.

A group off passengers had headed of for the day on a shore excursion, as you do, but unfortunatley there day ended in an awful way. the mini bus they were travelling on was involved in an accident,. in which the cause is still unknown. there were 12 passengers onboard 10 of which were form the Azura, 9 of the passengers were treated at a nearby hospital for injuries and sadly  another passenger passed away from the injuries sustained.

P&O cruises sent out a statement on social media to advise of the accident and to send there deepest condolences to the family of the deceased including a statement from the Senior vice-president of P&O Cruises Paul Ludlow said: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone touched by this tragic event.

This really saddens me, holidays are meant to be such a joyful occasion, something that many a times has been planned for a long time and looked forward to especially on such a  beautiful itinerary, I have sailed myself with my family on the Azura Caribbean sailing it it is truly wonderful. for is to end in disaster is just awful, the poor families and Friends of the deceased and also the passengers hurt too of course, everyone involved must be worried sick. I really do send out my deepest condolences along with well wishes to the passengers injured to make a full recovery soon.

For any passengers who are still onboard this sailing I hope the remaining days are smooth and enjoyable.
