Now I Know The Attraction

4 of us

Last week it was October Half Term and i took my family on their first ever cruise. I thought we would try a 4 night itinerary that visited France an d Belgium on the Independence of the Seas. This was also my first time on Royal Caribbean and it won’t be our last as I’ve booked the Navigator for next August. The family enjoyed it so much they want to go again. This time we have decided to go for a balcony as we were in an inside cabin and even though you aren’t in your cabin a huge amount of the time it just nice to wake up first thing and take a look outside.

There is so much for them to do and even though it was October they did spend an awful lot time in the H2o area and hot tubs. I use to sit there watching them wearing my winter coat. Whilst they were in the hot tubs I watched Angry Birds on the outdoor cinema. They use to put a different film on every day.

On the first day we had a round of crazy golf which is at the back of the ship near the Flowrider. This is a surf machine and watching people fall off was funny. Also here is where you will find the climbing wall which Harry my youngest was brave enough to conquer.

You really can’t fault anything on this ship, entertainment, food amenities and even the staff are brilliant. We did try hard to pack everything in and one evening we all enjoyed the live show of Grease which was superb. There are lot’s of areas where you can always find live music, but our favourite was On Air where there was Karaoke – I would like to add I am just a spectator,

On this itinerary we visited Bruge, Le Harve and Cherbourg. I have been to Bruge a couple of times so I stayed on the ship at this port. My favourite out of the three was Cherboug with its attractive cobbled streets, and as it was a Saturday there was a market. We lack those over here but it was nice to see all the fruit and veg on display.

Next time I will talk more about the entertainment and food.
