Crazy Things To Do On A Cruise Ship

Even though cruising is one of the most popular types of holiday there are still lot’s of people who haven’t tried it.  I must admit I enjoy peoples reaction when I mention some of the wonderful things you can do- it is utter disbelief. So for those who are thinking of taking a cruise here are a few of the things you can get up to:

1- Golf

Okay not really that exciting but you wouldn’t imagine being in the middle of the ocean and having a round of Golf.

2 – 4D Cinema.

You can find one of these on MSC , Costa and Carnival. Also on Cunard there is a Planetarium for those stargazers amongest you. You can recline back and gaze into outer space all while you are on a cruise ship.

3- Ice Bars

The Norwegian Epic has it’s very own Ice Bar where the temperature is so low you have to wear a special supplied coat to keep the cold at bay.

4 – Brewery

Carnival Vista has its very own brewery. The Red Frog pub offers three house made beers that passengers can watch being made in the large tanks behind the glass.

5 – Waterworks

Water shows can been seen on Royal Caribbeans Allure and Oasis of the seas. The pool is 18ft deep where during the day passengers can take scuba lessons but as soon as the sun goes down it turns into a spectacular 700 seater Aquabroadway with illuminated action from Divers, Aerialists, gymnasts who put on show to music.

6 – Waterslides

These are becoming more popular and can be found on several cruise ships. Kids of all ages can’t resist them. Carnival Vista has two in the water park area and similarly Norwegian Epic has a splash zone on the top deck too. Although not a water slide, Harmony of the seas has The Ultimate Abyss which takes you from deck 10 to Aqua Deck.

7 – Zip Lines

Allure of the seas is just one of the ships that has a zip wire on board. It is on deck 9 and you fly through the sky Peter Pan style 82 feet across the ship. Now that is an experience not everyone can say they have done.

8 – Flow Rider

On the back of  Freedom, Oasis and Quantum class you will find the amazing FlowRider. I’ve yet to do it but watching others is really funny. You can either do it as a group when it is open or pay for a private surf lesson. Passengers can either try and catch a wave standing up or belly down.

9 –  Robot Bartenders

These can be found on Quantum of the seas and Anthem of the seas. in the Bionic Bar. Passengers can order their drinks from a tablet and watch why the robotic arms get their drinks. This mixology meets technology.

10 – Ice Rinks

Royal Caribbean do seem to have thought of everything. The Ice Rink can be found in Studio B and is only open on certain days and times. In the evenings they also put on an amazing Ice show which is not to be missed.

Cruising has really come along way and there is a cruise ship to suit everyone. If this is all too much then there are still the likes of P&O and Cunard that are more traditional and offer the ballroom dancing.
