Child Free Zone’s on Planes

An airline in India has decided to offer Child free zones. Good idea? Or bad idea?

We have all been there and most of us on both sides on the scenario. I can remember being a parent with a young (lively)boy and actually feeling anxious about taking him on a plane. The main reason was upsetting other travellers and then of course trying to keep the usually boisterous child occupied.  When we took our son who was then two and a bit to Las Vegas for our Wedding all he wanted to do was run up the aisle to see his Nan who was sitting some row’s back. Unfortunately my husband to be did have a few choice words with a fellow passenger who grumbled at us to keep our child in check. I can remember feeling mortified. This didn’t help with my confidence of flying back home, so I think child zones would be a good idea. I always thought it would be a good idea to put all families together. This would also occupy the children seeing other children on the flight. We know small children like nothing more than to stare at each other. I’m sure the airlines must just put passengers anywhere unless you have pre booked your seat.

Child crying

On the flip side I can understand if a passenger is settling down for a long flight and would like to get some ‘shut eye’ ,the last thing they want is a crying child who is no relation next to them in the next seat. Do we think parents would be happy to be seated with other families or do you think they would take offence? I personally would prefer the first option, anything for a relaxing experience, nothing like starting your holiday stressed out or worrying about the return flight for that matter.

Here’s to a happy flight wherever you are going….
