A New King is almost here!

Holland America’s new Ship sets sail tomorrow on her Maiden Voyage.

The stunning MS Koningsdam is set to wow the pants off all that have the pleasure to sail on her.

In less than 24 hours she will be heading to the Mediterranean for her maiden season.

Carrying just over 2500 passengers and a little under 100,000 tonnes, she will blend in well with those who are not over impressed by the ‘largest’ ships always being the better.

She certainly looks a stunning and elegant addition to their fleet and quite a change in design too. Light and airy public areas that are just crying out to be filled with passengers watching the world go by.

The bright and refreshing dining room looks a fabulous place to dine as well as all the alternative eateries on board.

Even the Lido area where fast food alternatives are plentiful are a comfy and relaxing place to chill out.

The best news for me personally is the fact that the ship is the first of Holland Americas ships to offer Family friendly cabins. As a family of 5 myself, it is always difficult and normally very expensive to find a large enough cabin at a reasonable price.

Koningsdam will offer plenty of extra space and even 2 bathrooms. That seems an ideal solution to many larger families morning routines!

Not only will it accommodate families comfortably, but will also keep those precious little ones entertained with their kids clubs ranging from 3yrs right upto 17yrs.

From large familes to solo travellers, HAL seem to have thought of everyone when designing this beauty. On board they have 12 cabins specially for single passengers that wont be required to pay and huge supplements.

So whatever your budget and taste, from the Pinnacle suite at over 1200sqft to a modest interior room. Let this amazing new ship blow your socks off!

My next blog will be on Royal Caribbeans latest addition Ovation of the seas. I am off to her launch party in a few days so will be reporting my thoughts her.

until next time Di x
