Record Breaking News!

Figures out this week have reported that my favourite way to travel has broken another record. Cruising has over the last few years been one of the industries fastest growing area with more and more people opting to Cruise for their holidays.

Well 2015 has broken a record breaking in the market by reporting over 1.7 million people in UK and Ireland choosing to Cruise. These figures have been steadily rising over the last few years reaching a staggering 67% increase since 2005, and yet so many people out there yet to try!

Last year the number of passengers visiting a British port during a cruise topped the one million mark for the first time, while the number of people joining their cruise ship in the UK was up 13 per cent on the previous year.

Southampton saw a 9% growth with people opting to sail from the UK. I am hoping with news that Liverpool extending their terminal, we will see even more people experiencing the joys of cruising from all around the country.

Nearly two-thirds of  passengers enjoyed more than one cruise – the highest number of “multiple cruisers” for a decade. Proves there are so many good deals to be had and that cruising nowadays isn’t just for the rich.

This is largely down to the cruise lines designing fantastic ships with all the amazing facilities and them being available on our doorsteps makes them even more appealing for those amongst us that are too frightened to fly and just fed up with the do’s and don’ts in airports today.

2016 and 2017 will see the cruise market launch 15 new ships worth a whopping $10 Billion.
