Titanic was NOT sunk by an iceberg!!!!!

titanicDid anyone watch the Programme on the tv the other day about the Titanic? Well if you are interested in the history of the Titanic or ships in general this was one of the most fascinating programmes of the year.

What they announced will shock you. After over 100 years there is new evidence to suggest that the Titanic was not Sunk by an iceberg. Whaat I hear you ask! In the Documentary experts have come up with a solid theory that is was in fact a fire in the ships hull before it even set set that led to its downfall.

Senan Malonely is a journalist who has been researching the Titanic for the last 30 years found a 9 metre black mark on the front of the ships hull from a photo that was taken before the Titanic even sailed. Mrs Malonely has said that the fire was burning for  for 3 weeks at temperatures of over 1000 degrees which would have weakened the metal. Yes the Titanic was still hit by the iceberg however it would have been near on impossible to rip through the metal without it being weakened before hand. It has been suggested that the fire was know about but played down.

Obviously this could be one massive conspiracy theory, however I believe there is some truth about it. After all it was suppose to be an unsinkable ship. I’m not sure if this was actually said in real life. I know it was said in the film. I saw it 8 times at the cinema and know most of the words.

Conspiracy theory or not. Over 2000 people were on board that fateful day making it one of the worst maritime disasters in history.

I would recommend if you haven’t seen it to try and get it on catch up so you can make up your own mind. If you have watched it let me know your thoughts. Will be good to hear from you.
