MSC Preziosa here I come….

I have been given the opportunity to have 4 nights on the newest of the MSC ships the Preziosa.

I’m setting sail from Venice on Saturday 08th November and will finish in Barcelona with a day in Malta during the sailing. This will be my second time on board an MSC ship and first time sailing with them. Unfortunately, it is only 4 nights as the ship will be heading across the Atlantic towards South America for her winter season but I am still excited to experience the much talked about Italian cruise liner.

If you read my blogs, you will be aware that my first experience of a day visit on MSC Magnifica back in May of this year was not the best. Although I thought the ship was beautiful my experience was not the best in regards to service or food quality. I have hope though, as I have spoken to many clients whom throughout the summer have taken advantage of MSC and some of their fabulous deals. The Magnifica was not kind to me on the day I visited but am very pleased to say since then, my clients have all said they had a great time, some would take advantage of MSC and their deals in the future, some say glad of the experience but maybe just some things wasn’t quite right for them such as entertainment.

If I look at real cruise guests experiences via different forums, there is a real mix bag on MSC and what the cruise guests expectations are of the ship and services on board.

All say the same thing regarding the MSC Preziosa, the ship is beautiful, immaculate and clean. Well that’s a start and with MSC investing more money than I could ever imagine, updating some of their older ships to the level of their new ships, MSC really are one to beat on style. And if these pictures are anything to go by, I’m in for a treat.

The one thing that concerns me most is the service and the food, these seems to be where most cruise guests gripes are about, I’ve heard that there is a real mix with the service received on board and mostly in a bad way. Lots of hanging about waiting to be served, staff without that all important smile on their face and some have reported rudeness. I will reserve judgement on this and give you my honest, first hand experience once I return.

The food issue is one that is bugging me as this was my main issue before, I do not want to end up with bad food on a cruise as for me this is by far one of the best things about cruising, the option to eat like I’m dining in a 5 star restaurant each evening on my holiday and possibly try something I wouldn’t normally try. Lot’s of reviews I have read involve the food not being great, either to salty, not warm enough, no choice… the list goes on.

I just hope to goodness that I can come back and bore you all with wonderful food pictures and not like the awful ones from my last MSC visit. Although not ideal, I would also prefer to come back and say Oh NO my waistline increased with the great food…

until my return….

Dawn
