Lotus Spa and the Sanctuary on board Royal Princess

Yesterday I boarded for a 4 night stay aboard the Royal Princess. This is my first time on a Princess ship and as part of their 50th anniversary I have been lucky to join 14 other agents to see what Princess has to offer.

After boarding and having time to meet our cabin roomies we met for cocktails before dinner yesterday evening. Then enjoyed dinner in the Symphony restaurant before finishing the night in Club 6 for some more cocktails.

Today has all been about how to relax aboard the beautiful Royal Princess. Which was just as well as we all seemed to have experienced a broken nights sleep after an early start the day before, sleeping in a strange bed and also the docking movement of the ship outside of Guernsey (I will cover that on another blog).

The group was split in 2, some got off and tendered onto Guernsey and some of us stayed onboard to check out the spa.

I started this morning with a light breakfast from the Horizon Court then made my way down to the Lotus Spa to spend the morning at the Enclave. After checking in and being taken through to the changing room where bathrobes and slippers awaited is, we was then taken through to the Enclave. The Enclave is an adult only area with a fabulous hydro pool which was as warm as bath, with three different types of steam/sauna rooms, warm water beds (which I did fall asleep on) and hot stone beds. This is truly a way to start each day!

After a light lunch at the international cafe in the Piazza we then made our way upto the Sanctuary on deck 17 at the front of the ship. In front of the Sanctuary is the Retreat area, an adult only pool and bar area which is just as good as the Sanctuary (but without the complimentary snacks and drinks).
The Santuary, another adult only area of sun beds, cabanas and stewards to wait on you hand and foot. There is a charge for the Sanctuary for full and half days.

I secured my bed for the rest of the afternoon (which is where from now I am writing my blog) and then headed back down to the Lotus Spa for my 45 minute facial treatment. I can tell you this was pure bliss and I shall be now enjoying a siesta in the sun on my reserved Sanctuary sun bed as we depart Guernsey and make our way towards Cork.
