It’s triplets for the Quantum Class

Royal Caribbean have today announced the name of the third ship to be built in the Quantum Class of their fleet.

Now the choices for the new name that had been bounded around previously was:

  • Ovation of the Seas
  • Passion of the Seas
  • Pulse of the Seas
  • Vantage of the Seas

They have decided to go with Ovation of the Seas… mmmm not sure of that either.

In addition to announcing the name, the first piece of steel was cut at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.  This is the same shipyard where sister cruise ships Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas are also being constructed.  The new ship Ovation of the Seas is scheduled to be delivered in the autumn of 2016.

So watch this space for lots of information regarding the new ship itself, with itineraries and where she will be based.

Like its sister ships, Ovation of the Seas will feature Quantum-class amenities and have the new feature of the virtual cabins and no doubt will be a big hit among the Royal Caribbean fans out there.

We have had a little giggle about the name at work so far and have to say personally the only one of the 4 names I did like was Passion of the Seas, but in all honesty I thought they was all a bit naff.

If you could have a choice to name a ship, what would you choose?

What do you think of the new name for the Quantum Class ship?

Would love to hear your opinion.
