I’m on the move

Nearly a year has passed and finally this Saturday (fingers crossed all goes to plan) I will be picking up the keys to the flat I have been waiting to move into since November last year.

I will be off all this week getting everything sorted with a few days to buy all the essentials and then spend the weekend cleaning and sorting out before logging back onto work for next Monday. I was meant to be picking up the keys on Wednesday  01st October, this had been arranged for the past month, but due to circumstances that I couldn’t control (except my anger) I have had to bite my tongue and wait another 3 days.  Not ideal when my leave was arranged and having to put family out for another few nights, but lets hope all goes to plan and Saturday I will be eating take away from the carton with make do knives and forks!!

I will have to use my few extra days wisely, such as buying new bedding, towels, kitchen appliances and cleaning products!

The flat belongs to my partner but he hasn’t lived there for nearly 5 years and it has taken nearly a year to finally get the current tenants to leave. I must have the patients of a saint, but to be honest it isn’t all bad as it meant I got to spend the summer here in Spain at my house and spend quality time with my mum and dad.

I can’t blame them not wanting to leave, the flat is positioned in the heart of Greenwich within spitting distance of the Cutty Sark, the market, Greenwich Park and also the fantastic array of bars and restaurants.

I am excited but nervous too as I do not know what type of state the flat will be in, the good thing is it is fully furnished and hopefully a good clean and a lick of paint to freshen the place up will get us through until we have to start making plans to do the place up.

Thank fully my best friend has offered to help me get the place sorted once I get the keys, as luck would have it my partner is overseas working at the moment and won’t be around. But for me that is a good thing as then he cannot get under my feet and be annoying when I am trying to get on. If he was around, I think I would have sent him out anyways!

So roll on Saturday, when the Royal London Borough of Greenwich gains a new resident.

Dawn
