Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016

Firstly I would like to wish you a Happy New Year and hope that 2016 will be good to you all.

I am looking forward to the start of a fresh new year not only for personal but for work too.

After a few years back in London, I have returned to live in Spain (where my heart really belonged) and with the world of technology as it is today I am still able to work with cruise.co.uk and offer the same excellent customer service as always.

I shall of course be returning to the UK as often as possible, especially for events within the cruise industry as 2016 will be exciting with the launch of TWO new Royal Caribbean ships from Southampton in April and May, the Ovation of the Seas and the Harmony of the Seas. Both are offering a couple of sailings from Southampton before going to their summer ports, Ovation will be based in China and Harmony of the Seas will be based in Barcelona. Of course both these ships will be filled with the wonders that we have come to expect from Royal Caribbean, just bigger and better.

These are not to be the only two new ships as there are plenty more to choose from.

There is the Carnival Vista, which will be based also in the Mediterranean during the summer of 2016 with features such as pedal bikes suspended from an 800-foot track 150 feet above the ocean and the first IMAX theatre at sea. Kaleid-o-slide a colourful water tube ride and the Havana Cabanas which are a new style of cabin with outdoor patios. This could be a great turn for Carnival within the European market.

Holland & America have the launch of the long awaited ms Koningsdam which is also the biggest vessel in their fleet. To be based out of Amsterdam and sailing to the Fjords and Baltics, they have created space for a Music Walk, where guests can take their pick of live classics, blues or songs from the hit parade. I saw the presentation on our recent conference and she looks stunning.

Viking launch their second ocean vessel the Viking Sea, which will be very similar to last years new ship the Star. Sailing around various parts of the Mediterranean and the Baltics.

We also have two new Six Star Service ships being launched in 2016.

Regent Seven Seas Explorer, an all-suite, all-balcony ship which could possibly be the most luxurious ship at sea.

Seabourn Encore – to be launched late 2016, Seabourns first new ship for five years.

I have made sure that my bosses know that I am available for launch and ready to inspect the new ships, be it UK or Spain!

So on that note, have a great end to 2015 and welcome with open arms 2016.

Dawn
