Will Azamara be Azamazing?

One of the ‘perks’ of working in the cruise industry is that we are often invited to experience a cruise lines ship and hospitality.

I, myself have been very fortunate to experience a few familiarisation trips now over the years, be it for a day on board with lunch or from a night or two to a full 7 night cruise. It’s all about the experience of the cruise line, ship, staff, dining, facilities, entertainment and of course the ports of call.

Next week, I will be lucky enough to experience 2 nights on one of the Azamara ships, the Azamara Quest and I am very excited as this is a brand that I love selling but have never tried.

Azamara have a fleet of only two ships, the other being the Azamara Journey. They are a sister brand of Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises. Aiming at the 5-6 star cruise market, these are small cruise ships with a maximum guest list of just 690.  They very rarely offer the same itinerary twice and they are constantly sailing around the globe.

These ships are all inclusive, and that includes the gratuities and all drinks. The price you pay is the price you pay, no hidden extras. They also throw in an Azamazing evening during the cruise, giving the whole ship an experience they hopefully will never forget. This will normally consist of an evening on shore with dinner and a show included, something a bit different to the normal excursions. They have no formality on board, but I do believe that they may have a themed ‘all white’ night during most longer cruises.

As these ships are a lot smaller than the average size ship nowadays, they have the ability to sail  waters and dock in ports that other cruise lines just cannot get to. They also offer the experience of overnight ports too, so that you can experience a destination in the night as well as the day time. And as you will know from reading my other blogs, that I do personally prefer the smaller ship.

So next Saturday I will be setting sail from Southampton and arriving into the port of Amsterdam the following afternoon. This will be my 3rd sail into Amsterdam and I like the ease of the location of this port. You dock virtually in the heart of the city. With Amsterdam Central Station just a 10 minute walk away, you have the beautiful architecture, markets, canals and museums right on your doorstep.

The great thing is, that as we stay overnight this time on the ship, so we can also get to experience Amsterdam by night and immerse ourselves in the buzz of this diverse city.   Photos will be censored before appearing on social media lol

Azamaras’ tag line is ‘THE VOYAGE FOR THOSE WHO LOVE TRAVEL’ so lets see if they live up to their claim. I’ll let you know in my next blog.
