Lady Orwell Ipswich River Cruise

Well I experienced my first local river cruise on-board the MS Lady Orwell from Ipswich port. And oh my did I have a great time. This was for a friend who was celebrating his 40th Birthday and had traveled all the way over to see family and friends from Australia.

We started the river cruise from Ipswich docks at 13:00pm which then traveled along the Levington Marina with some stunning scenery along with the multi-millionaire yachts / ships that can be seen moored up and also sailing. We then got to Felixstowe docks which has some fascinating large cargo ships that travels to and from the East of England to all over the world traveling with some fantastic products.

We then reached our final destination which was Harwich docks which most of you will know as the cruise port to the Baltics and Fjords. However there are still ferries that depart from Harwich such as DFDS and Stena Line traveling to Denmark, Holland and france.

Of course it was an ideal opportunity to take some new selfie’s of me and my husband. It turned out to be such a glorious sunny day which obviously helped the enjoyment by all. The MS Lady Orwell does themed day trips and evening trips such as 80’s & 90’s night, Over 65’s only and generally sailings. However they also do private hire for the 4 hour itineraries from Ipswich – Levington – Felixstowe – Harwich and back.

Happy birthday to a really good friend of mine and thank you for giving me the experience of this river cruise, would certainly recommend this to anyone who likes a local scenic river cruise at a low cost. But beware the drinks on-board can be just as expensive like any river cruise or ocean cruise.
