1st UK visit for Oasis of the Seas

So Oasis of the seas is now in Rotterdam Keppel Verolme’s shipyard for routine maintenance work before she comes to the UK! Although on the 15th of October 2014 this will be the only time we see her depart from Southampton where she will make her transatlantic voyage over to Fort Lauderdale.

Now this really is a shame as I think this would have populated so many new customers wanting to cruise on-board the Oasis of the seas as its the only time we will see her in our neighbourhood. Well for the time being anyway unless Royal Caribbean decide to bring her back for us?

However the ship which measures 362 meters in length, 60 meters in width and more than 70 meters high would be the biggest ship we have seen in our UK waters. With seven distinct themed areas, comprising of Central Park, Boardwalk, the Royal Promenade, the Pool and Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center, Entertainment Place and Youth Zone this will be one of the largest ships to have departed from Southampton.

With the Anthem of the seas sailing from Southampton from April 2015 which is 348 meters in length and has a capacity of 4180 customers are we now starting to see the start of bigger and better ships departing the UK?
