Titanic II

Would you travel on Titanic II?

I have been reading in the news today how an Australian billionaire is behind a project to build a replica of the famous cruise liner.

It has been reported more than 4000 people have already registered for tickets to take part in Titanic II’s maiden voyage, which will follow the same route the RMS Titanic was travelling when it sank 375 miles south of Newfoundland in April 1912.

Blue star line has agreed to a deal in principle to build the Titanic replica however final contracts are yet to be signed.

If you really want to know what it was like to sail on the ill-fated liner they have plans to have 3 classes of travel. The new ship will have third class accommodations, complete with shared bathrooms, dancing to Irish drums and Irish stew on the menu. There are even whispers that the liner will offer costumes from the era of Titanic for each passenger based on the ticket class they are holding.

They are aiming to have Titanic II completed late 2016 .

What do you think? In my opinion I don’t like the idea. I am originally from Southampton and great uncles of mine worked out of Southampton on the cruise liners and the transatlantic voyages I remember stories I would be told from my great grandmother about how all the children at school wanted to be her best friend as she always had goodies from America!! Luckily none of my family were on the Titanic.
