Rome in 24 hours!!

What can you cram in when you only have 24 hours in Rome?

We arrived in Rome on Sunday. After a stressful time at the airport we eventually arrived at our hotel at around 2pm. If there is one thing I will recommend to anyone cruising from here and not booking a package please have plenty of time to get to the ship. Our flight landed 40 mins early however it still took over an hour to get our luggage!! We took the Leonardo Express train from the airport straight to Termini station. I booked our hotel near here for convenience as we were taking the train the following day down to Sorrento.

Once in Rome the first thing we did was go and grab a 24hr sightseeing bus ticket. We took the bus to the coloseum for a wander around the ruins. From there we headed to Piazza Venizia and stopped for ice cream, be warned Rome is not cheap!! We found this out when an ice cream cost 10 euros!!!!

We decided to trust the guide book and went to a restaurant recommend we stopped off at Obika restaurant,  mozzarella bar fantastic!!

We spent the rest of the evening taking in the atmosphere down the small streets and visiting the Spanish steps. The following morning we had until our train left for Naples at 3pm. So we grabbed breakfast and jumped on the bus again. We had planned to get off the bus at the Vatican however it was so busy we decided to give it a miss. Make sure if you plan to see it either get there nice and early or make sure you gave plenty of time!!

Next stop Trevi Fountain. I was really disappointed as they are doing lots of work here and we didnt get to see it. We then headed to the hotel to grab our bags for the next part of our journey. Next stop Sorrento.
